Our Story
5 years in the making...
The love of candles has always been around. Danielle was the type of person who would have a candle in every room and ensure the scents played well off of each other. Now her husband had a love hate relationship with candle stores as he knew Danielle was about to spend some serious money. Never did they think one day she would own her own business making candles.
After graduating high school, Danielle joined the Army and quickly understood a personal sacrifice she needed to make, her family. Upon completion of training, Danielle headed to South Korea for two years. Now if there is one thing that can be said it is that Danielle and her mom are truly each other's best friend, so you can imagine how hard it was to have nearly 6500 miles between them. During Danielle’s time overseas, they were both looking for that perfect gift that would bring one another comfort. Neither of them found that perfect sentimental gift.
When Danielle returned to the United States she was doing so with her own family. Danielle and her husband, Aaron, were expecting their first child. It was during her pregnancy that they had made the decision to complete their term of service and enter the civilian world. Shortly after, Danielle began her journey of attending business school and would ultimately lead her to her dream of Burning Message. One of her first classes had an assignment which required her to create a product and company. After taking some time to think about this project, Danielle landed on the idea of a candle that had a personalized hidden message within a bottle submerged within the wax. The perfect sentimental gift that has a lasting comfort. It was during this assignment Danielle decided on the concept and name for Burning Message. Not having any experience, Danielle struggled to provide one unscented, colored with crayon candle. Let's just say it's been improved and perfected over the years.
Throughout the following years Burning Message was always on Danielle’s mind. There were more assignments completed and she would talk about this “dream”. The quarantine of 2020 was both a blessing and a curse. Danielle was eventually separated as a result of COVID, but she was able to take time to push her dream over the edge and into reality.
5 years in the making, Burning Message is here and ready to be that perfect sentimental gift that brings someone comfort every time they light the candle, excitement as they get close to your message and joy when they see their message and keepsake jar for years to come.
